Totaly linked with sixties psychendelia, it seems like tie-dye makes a strong come-back!!! Tie-dye is a dyeing technique applied to clothing in order to produce an irregular pattern or “a gradient of colors”. This fabric ruled the 2010 Spring-Summercollection of brands like Rodarte, Calvin Klein, Lela Rose, Proenza Schoulder, and Blumarine, just to name a few. Every designer used differenttechniques to add the trendy effect: some used a tie-dye-like effect accomplished by folding leather of two tones, whileother showed multiple color dye compilations. Proenza Schouler used the Japanese shibori dyeing process-and the sartorialset has been quick to follow suit. “Tie-dye is the perfect left-field element” according to Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler. “It has an organic quality, making it an ideal counterbalance to slick fashion”
My opinion is that a tie-dye item is a summer Must-Have!!!!
